Race 4 Chase
Race 4 Chase is named after Chase Kowalski, an amazing little boy from Newtown, Connecticut, who loved to run. Race 4 Chase strives to empower kids to reach their full potential.
The program is for children ages 6-12 years old wishing to participate in the Race 4 Chase Triathlon Program. This program provides youth with a fun, skill building, and life-changing experience by introducing them to the sport of triathlon.
The program runs for six weeks starting June 8, 2026 and ending on race day, Saturday, July 25, 2026 (will not meet June 29-July 3). Participants will receive a Race for Chase t-shirt. Each participant will need to register separately with USA Triathlon by June 30, 2026. The cost of USA Triathlon registration is approximately $10 for youth.
This application needs to be completed by both parent/guardian and child wishing to participate in the program. Please answer all questions – if you have additional children, each child must have a separate application.
Due to limited enrollment, applications will be evaluated based on several factors. Selection priority will be given to first time registrations, a demonstration of need, and those indicating a sincere desire to participate for the complete duration of the program. You will be notified if your child has been selected into the program no later than May 4, 2026 and at that time you will be charged the program fee.
If selected, participant will attend the 6 week program (times vary at each branch) and participation is mandatory for the final race on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the CSD Community YMCA.
CSD Community YMCA
CSD Community YMCA program times are 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. daily, Monday – Friday (lunch is not provided). Cost of the program is $75 for YMCAUP Members and $150 for non-YMCAUP Members. You will be notified if your child has been selected into the program no later than May 4, 2026 and at that time you will be charged the program fee. Race day will be at the CSD Community YMCA on Saturday, July 25, 2026 and will be the culmination of all Race for Chase programs with the YMCA of Upper Palmetto.

R4C Junior Coach Program (STAFF)
Leaders in Action: R4C Junior Coach Program
This program is designed to bridge the gap between learning leadership concepts and applying them in real-world settings. It empowers junior coaches to actively engage in leadership roles where they can make a tangible difference. Through hands-on training, skill-building activities, and real-life experiences, participants will cultivate critical life skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making.
The program emphasizes leadership as an active, dynamic process—something learned by doing, adapting, and growing. It provides junior coaches with the tools to step confidently into leadership positions and inspire others. The focus is not only on personal growth but also on fostering a sense of responsibility, accountability, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to their teams, communities, and future careers.
This highlights hands-on, practical leadership development, emphasizing how junior coaches will actively apply leadership skills rather than just learning theory.
