New This Season: Basketball Divisions by Graduating Class!

We’re making a change to our Youth Basketball League this season. Instead of grouping players by age, we’re moving to divisions based on school grade, identified by graduating class.

Why the change? We want kids to have more opportunities to play alongside their classmates and friends while competing with others at a similar stage of development.

Since our basketball program starts as young as age 3, using graduating classes allows us to keep our divisions consistent from our youngest players all the way through middle school.

Not sure which graduating class your child belongs to? We’re happy to help you find the right division!

What to Expect:

  1. Proper Passing Techniques
  2. Development of Positions
  3. Introduction to One-on-One Defense
  4. Ball Control & Dribbling

The U8 program encourages movement through basketball-related children’s games. A young player’s basketball experience should be a positive and fun one. Competitive pressures should be discouraged and players should be focused on the “everyone wins” theory. U8 players will be expected to be able to dribble with both hands and become comfortable with shooting and passing. More importantly, they will have fun and develop a love for the game.
